It's Day 2! Today we did some sample storyboarding and practice with videocameras. I loved working with the small handheld cameras, panning and zooming and tilting and all that good stuff. Nick the Academy camera guy suggested that I be the shooter for my group's video, and I have no objection to that! I'm especially excited to shoot some stuff on the boat trip this Saturday. On the science side, the Academy's curator of aquatic biology talked to us today about saving sharks and orange roughies. His Powerpoint was both depressing and inspiring, if you can imagine that. He was very passionate about what he does, and I hope maybe someday I'll find myself in a career in which I am just as enthusiastic about what I do for a living. All in all, a very educational day!
